Targeted - Wireless - Designed for horses

EquiTens Pro

EquiTens pro is a wireless TENS and EMS therapy device designed with horses in mind.

The lightweight, wireless pads are placed on the horses large muscle groups, delivering controlled electrical stimulation to target areas. This innovative design means no messy wires or connecting to another machine to power.

Whether you are looking to activate muscles before exercise or support recovery afterwards, EquiTens pro makes electrical stimulation easy and convinient.

Engineered for The Equine Athlete

Unlike generic human devices on the market, the Pro has been specifically developed around practical requirements for equine use, with  in depth research and consideration given to the electrical stimulation parameters and output requirements suitable for the horse.

The stimulation range has been developed with equine anatomy, musculature and individual response in mind, allowing intensity to be progressively adjusted according to each individual horses preference.

Three purpose designed modes

EquiTens pro incorporates three distinct stimulation modes, each developed for a difference experience.

The modes differ in their stimulation frequency and intended application allowing the user to select the suitable programme for the individual horse.

Advanced controlled heat option
SENSITIVE

Controlled lower-output stimulation profile designed to allow a gradual introduction to the device. This setting is good for horses that may be more sensitive, or are new to electrical stimulation.

- Lower output-stimulation

- Gradual introduction

-Greater control during application

- An appropriate starting point for more responsive horses

RECOVER

TENS Setting

Recover mode is based around transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation principles.

TENS differs from EMS in its intended target. TENS delivers gentle electrical stimulation through the skin to influence sensory nerve endings.

The recover mode is used well post exercise.

- Provide TENS therapy

-Deliver controlled sensory stimulation to nerves in the muscle

EMS setting

Activate mode is designed around the principles of neuromuscular electrical stimulation where stimulation is used to stimulate motor nerves and produce controlled muscular activity.

Technical purpose

The mode activate is intended for targeted muscular stimulation as a pre exercise routine or strengthening weakened muscle during rehab/injury

-Target weaker muscles

- Encourage controlled muscular activation

-Target specific muscle groups

The objective is controlled stimulation, not maximum intensity.

The Pro series represents a significant leap in bio-engineering. Optimised with superior pulse depth, refined intensity controls and specialised focus on controlled electrical output with adjustable intensity levels.

EquiTens pro offers a NTC intelligent system to deliver 3 temperature controls, 38°, 40° and 42°. Applying the heat setting increases blood flow and promotes greater circulation to muscles.

How to use the EquiTens pro

HOW TO USE EQUITENS

.

STEP 1 — PREPARE YOUR HORSE

Make sure your horse is clean and dry before using EquiTens.

The area where you are going to place the pads should be free from dirt, mud, sweat and excess hair or oils.

Good skin contact helps the pads work effectively.

STEP 2 — PREPARE THE PADS

Gently peel the protective plastic film away from the pad.

Do not throw the plastic film away.

Keep it somewhere clean and safe, as you will need it after your session to cover the pads again and help keep them clean.

Avoid touching the sticky surface of the pads unnecessarily.

STEP 3 — PREPARE THE SKIN

Apply a small amount of clean water or conductive gel to the muscle area where the pad will be placed.

This helps create good conductivity between the pad and the horse’s skin.

STEP 4 — APPLY THE PADS

Place the pads directly onto the prepared muscle area.

Press the pads down gently to make sure they have good contact with the skin.

Make sure the pads are positioned correctly before switching the device on.

Never place the pads over broken, irritated or damaged skin.

USING THE CONTROLS

Once your pads are securely positioned, switch on your EquiTens.

1. POWER

Press the power button to turn the device on.

The screen will illuminate and your EquiTens will be ready to use.

2. SELECT YOUR MODE - Click the full 'O' button to switch through the modes.

EquiTens has three modes to choose from:

SENSITIVE

A gentler setting designed for horses who are new to EquiTens or more sensitive to stimulation.

This is a good starting point when introducing your horse to electrical stimulation.

ACTIVATE

Designed to provide muscle stimulation and activation.

This mode uses EMS-style stimulation and can be incorporated into a suitable muscle activation routine.

RECOVER

A TENS-style setting designed for use as part of a post-exercise recovery routine.

It provides electrical stimulation to the muscles and can be incorporated into your horse’s recovery routine.

3. ADJUST THE INTENSITY

Once you have selected your mode, start at a low intensity.

Gradually increase the intensity to a level that your horse is comfortable with.

Every horse is different, so the appropriate intensity will vary.

You may see or feel the muscles responding to the stimulation. Your horse should remain calm and comfortable throughout the session.

Never increase the intensity simply because you can. Comfort is key.

4. START YOUR SESSION

Once the pads are positioned correctly and your horse is comfortable, allow the selected programme to run.

Stay with your horse and monitor their response throughout the session. we advise 5-10 minutes on the EMs (Activate) mode and 5-15 minutes on the Recover mode on each side of the horse.

If your horse becomes uncomfortable, unsettled or shows a negative reaction, reduce the intensity or stop the session.

AFTER YOUR SESSION

When your session is complete:

1. Switch the EquiTens off by holding down the 'O' button.

2. Gently remove the pads from your horse.

3. Replace the protective plastic film over the sticky surface of each pad.

4. Store the pads somewhere clean and dry.

Keeping the protective film on the pads between sessions helps prevent dirt and debris from sticking to the adhesive surface and helps maintain the pads. If the pads become dirty or hairy gentle wipe clean with your finger and some water. Do not submerge the pad under water.

TOP TIPS

✔ Clean skin = better contact

✔ Use water or conductive gel before applying the pads

✔ Start at a low intensity

✔ Increase gradually according to your horse’s response

✔ Always monitor your horse during use

✔ Keep the protective films after removing them from the pads

✔ Replace the films after every session

IMPORTANT

EquiTens should always be used according to the instructions supplied with your device.

Do not use the pads over broken, irritated or damaged skin.

If your horse becomes distressed or uncomfortable during use, stop the session.

EquiTens is not intended to replace veterinary diagnosis, veterinary treatment or professional veterinary advice.

If you are unsure whether electrical stimulation is appropriate for your horse, speak to your veterinarian or an appropriately qualified professional before use.
